Taizi: Ch 17.1

Having a great snow filling the whole sky also had an advantage because everyone in the palace tried their best to avoid going out. The two brothers indulge in each other’s company day and night without anyone caring.

Yong Qi was shocked to find that the younger brother, the Crown Prince, was really difficult to deal with. His previous deposition could still count as a little restrained.

This person who would become the son of Heaven in the future, if he was in control of power and would not be afraid of indulgence, who knew how it would end.

After Yong Qi was played with by him, he either cried or made noise intermittently and begged for mercy, his mind was blurred like a warm snow stuffed with white flowers, everything was too erratic.

The pleasure and the pain of his lower body were mixed together. He didn’t know whether he fainted, whether he was tired or lost his mind because of the stimulation, or how many times he lost coinciouse.

“Um……”

Suddenly, the warm feeling caused him to open his eyes in a trance.

Yong Shan’s handsome face fell into his eyes, with a pair of black pupils looking at him with concern.

The light and graceful sound of water and the hot steaming mist made the scene more and more like a dream.

“Gege, don’t be afraid, leaving that stuff inside will cause your stomach to upset. It will be fine if washed with warm water.” Yong Shan said softly against his ear.

The swollen entrance that was already extremely sensitive, when being scratched by a finger, made Yong Qi whimper as he moved his body.

Yong Shan’s doting laughter crept into his ears, “Don’t be this reluctant. In the future, if gege wants it, then I will give you more.”

Yong Qi was still half asleep and half awake, and he also knew that this was a frivolous remark. He was probably still in a dizzy state, that he didn’t feel embarrassed or ashamed, but it was just that there was still some illusion of him blushing with heart pounding. As if drinking half a bottle of mead made by the Imperial Palace, the heat of an intoxicated drink flows in the body without obeying the order, slowly cruising around.

“Be good, close your eyes and go to sleep.”

Yong Shan coaxed in a low voice, as if speaking to a child under the full moon.

Yong Qi didn’t feel that he should express any dissatisfaction either.

Exhausted, yet the hot water and fingers caressing his body were so familiar and comfortable.

He gave a vague “um”, closed his eyes, and lay back in the nest like an unsuspecting bunny, falling asleep.

Yong Shan helped him wash and dry himself, and hurriedly carried him back to the bed.

Fearing that his brother would catch a cold in every possible way, he tucked the thick quilt back and forth. After a sudden chill touched his body, he burst out laughing.

It turned out that he only had a single shirt draped over his own shoulders.

Although it was warm in the room, it was not acceptable to wear it like this on a snowy day.

Yong Shan took his clothes and put them on, stood in front of the bed and looked at Yong Qi’s sleeping face. He was also tired and sleepy. After heat of passion was vented out, the fever had subsided, but other things were like ripples, a round of **** waves came up, covering his heart unpleasantly.

Something had to be dealt with first.

Dispelling the idea of sleeping, Yong Shan put on a thick fur coat, lifted the curtain and walked out of the room.

It was dark outside, and all the lanterns in the courtyard were lit, swaying in the dark by the cold wind.

When the cold wind came past him, Yong Shan suddenly became wildawake and asked the servant who rushed over to serve him, “Where is Chang Defu?”

The eunuch said cautiously, “Replying to Your Highness, seeing that Your Highness had already withdrawn for the night, Head Chang went back to the room to rest for a while.”

As long as you are human, there is always time needed to rest.

Chang Defu had done his errands carefully, but it didn’t mean that he didn’t need sleep.

Yong Shan nodded and ordered, “Tell him to come to the study.”

He turned around and entered the study. After giving orders to someone to turn on the lamp, the servants in wait brought up the hot tea and snacks that had always been prepared at night.

Yong Shan drank a few sips of tea. After eating some cakes to fill his stomach, he picked up the memorials that he had not read in the morning, and continued to look down with the flickering lights.

After only reading two lines, Chang Defu hurriedly walked into the door.

“Your Highness, the servant is here.”

He obviously just got up, and didn’t even have time to wear his clothes neatly. Half of his back collar was tucked inside, and while greeting him carefully, he strove to caress his uneven hem.

Yong Shan, as if he had never heard of the sound, stared at the memorial in his hand intently.

The eerie silence made Chang Defu alert. He didn’t dare to care about his clothes anymore, and quietly raised his eyes with his head lowered to peek at the Crown Prince’s face.

The youth’s face was flushed red by the candlelight, but there was still a hint of chilling and decisiveness.

Although he neither said a word, nor looked angry, his silence made it even more frightening.

Chang Defu’s heart was beating wildly, obviously he didn’t do anything, but he felt guilty for no reason. His knees softened, and he knelt down silently, waiting for Yong Shan to deal with him.

Yong Shan didn’t seem to know that he was in front of him at all, so he sat there and read the memorial for more than half an hour.

Chang Defu was kneeling on the translucent brick floor in winter, so cold that he almost froze, but then he heard Yong Shan ask absentmindedly, “Did you greet Shu Fei today?”

“Eh? Ye-yes… this servant…”

“What did you say?”

Chang Defu’s heart almost jumped out of his throat, and he quickly explained, “When the sedan chair passed by, this servant didn’t dare to be disrespectful, It’s just… I just went to greet Niangniang and said that I was unlucky. Niangniang came over and was actually ready to return, and that I couldn’t serve tea to Niangniang…”

A sneer came from above his head.

Followed by another chilling silence that could freeze people to death.

Chang Defu was full of grievances and had nowhere to complain. He shivered and knelt for a while, but he still couldn’t hear Yong Shan’s oral instruction. He knew that the Crown Prince above, although he was young, his temper was not to be underestimated. Maybe he could really get himself hung for a few days and nights for sure, so he had no choice but to cry and say with a pitiful face, “For some reason, Niangniang learned about servant’s medicine, and taught servant a few words.”

After waiting for a while, Yong Shan still didn’t make a sound.

Chang Defu was really frightened. Shrinking his neck and thinking for a while, he had no choice but to grit his teeth, and said again, “Niangniang also said that this servant shall serve Your Highness well.”

This time, Yong Shan finally spoke, proudly pulled the corner of his lips, “How does she want you to serve me well?”

Chang Defu breathed a sigh of relief.

Thank goodness, His Royal Highness was willing to give a sound.

He quickly kowtowed a few times, and said honestly, “Niangniang told this servant that don’t think that there is only one great prince above his head. There are many powerful people in this palace. She…she said…”

“Stop being secretive, say it.” Yong Shan smiled lightly, saying every word clearly, “After tonight you will have no chance. If I find out that you have concealed a word in the future… Heh, you also know that I am not very generous to others.”

How could Chang Defu dare to hesitate again? He immediately poured the beans out of a bamboo tube, coming clean about everything that there was not a single grain left, for fear of missing a single word of the report, “Niangniang said, Your Highness Yong Shan is only 16 years old this year. That I don’t even look at how many years she’s been in this palace. Without her being the mother, can the one I serve be the Crown Prince? And that Your Highness had suffered like His Highness Yong Qi long ago. At that time, I did not dare to talk nonsense, and kept being careful. Afterwards, Niangniang finally calmed down a little, and said, “If one person has attained the Dao, the chicken and the dog will ascend to Heaven, so you have to serve Yong Shan well.””

Yong Shan listened silently and asked, “That’s all?”

“And there’s more, at the end, Niangniang also warned, saying that prince Yong Qi needed to be sent away as soon as possible to keep Your Highness Yong Shan’s safety. Keeping Your Highness Yong Shan safe, that is, to keep myself safe as well.” Chang Defu said, and banged his head a few more times, full of grievances. “How can I dare to say anything to Shu Fei Niangniang? I have to make it clear. Your Highness, I have been serving you all these years, and I have never dared speaking falsehood. Even if Your Highness doesn’t ask about today’s matter, I don’t dare to hide it. I just didn’t dare to disturb you when I saw Your Highness entering the room last night. I was thinking of reporting to Your Highness early in the morning…”

“Get up.” Yong Shan waved his hand to stop him from continuing to kowtow, and smiled indifferently. “It’s almost dawn, who has time to chant three trials with you? I asked you to come and ask a bit, and haven’t done anything to you yet, why did you collapse into a ball? Good for nothing, stand up quickly!”

Only then did Chang Defu respond, and tremblingly climbed up from the icy floor, hunched his neck and lowered his hands to wait.

“Actually, what my mother said is not unreasonable. She is for my own good.” Yong Shan was surprisingly kind and reasonable, “Indeed, as long as I keep my crown in position, everyone will be safe.”

His speech was straightforward as he calmly said it, as if he was reminding himself, but also as a word of warning. Chang Defu didn’t dare to speak at this time, no matter how old he was, he just kept his ears open and listened carefully.

“I’m only sixteen years old. It’s almost twenty years since Mother entered the palace, right?”

Chang Defu was stunned for a while, only to realize that Yong Shan was asking himself, and hurriedly said softly, “Yes, it has been almost twenty years since Shu Fei Niangniang entered the palace.”

Yong Shan smiled calmly, “Speaking of which, I’m afraid that my stay in this palace will be longer than hers in the future.”

No matter what else, the meaning of this sentence was too obvious.

Chang Defu didn’t have to use his head, he had already heard this Heaven and Earth principle that anyone could understand.

To offend the Crown Prince, who ought to be the future Emperor, had far more serious consequences than to offend Shu Fei Niangnaing.

As long as the Emperor was in good health, and he didn’t get sick or encounter assassins, how many Empress Dowagers could live longer than her Emperor son? As soon as she closed her eyes, all those who dared to follow her to fight with the Emperor in the past must all die without a corpse.

Where would a fine bird choose to nestle in? It’s basically a question of which one was better, the golden brick hall or the grass hut.

If Chang Defu didn’t know which one to choose, then his head must have grown on his butt!

With a plop, he landed on his knees again.

“This servant has followed Your Highness almost all his life, and is loyal. Although this one is stupid, he is honest. If there is any trouble in the future, even if he has to crawl on a broken leg, this servant will immediately report to Your Highness, not a single word will be missed.”

Dong, dong, dong, he kowtowed a few times, and this time really wholeheartedly and loyally.

Yong Shan looked at him and couldn’t help laughing, “Okay, get up. Fortunately, there are no outsiders here. Or else they will wonder why the Head manager I picked became a snapping beetle.”

Chang Defu responded in a loud voice. This time when he stood up, his demeanor was different. His fighting spirit was high, and if he was on the battlefield now, he might have gone to block the knife for Yong Shan to show his loyalty.

“Chang Defu.”

“This servant is here.”

Yong Shan hooked his fingers, and Chang Defu hurried over. He bent over and waited for him to speak.

Yong Shan’s lacquer-like eyes gleamed faintly under the light, and he smiled thoughtfully before gently ordering, “Serve His Highness Yong Qi well.”

“Yes, this servant will serve him well.”

“When I wasn’t in the Prince’s Palace, he gave away fur leather. I only asked you. Do you understand?”

“Understood, this servant understood.”

Chang Defu nodded his head like a chicken pecking at rice.

He knew very well in his heart, anyway, from today onwards, his life as the Head manager had been tied to the very important life of His Highness Yong Qi without any suspense.

Yong Qi was completely unaware of what Chang Defu had encountered.

When he opened his eyes after a good night’s sleep, he suddenly found himself snuggling in front of Yong Shan’s firm chest. Waking up, his face flushed with shame. He sat up and said, “This… this is…”

“This is too unreliable.” Yong Shan smiled and pulled him back into his arms, and asked playfully, “Gege, how to take advantage of what the future empress can take advantage of?”

“Yong Shan, let go…”

Of course Yong Shan refused to let go. He grabbed Yong Qi, pressed his tender face lightly, and rubbed it against his chest, calmly saying, “Speaking of which, I still lack a prince’s concubine in this palace, Gege, do you want to help me see the details?”

Yong Qi was annoyed by his teasing and glared at him.

But his face was naturally soft, and with such a stare, when it fell into Yong Shan’s eyes, that was like, a handsome person who was half-angry, half-hatred, with no intimidating power at all.

Yong Shan enjoyed Yong Qi’s anger with relish, but seeing that beautiful eyebrows were frowning, as if he was uncomfortable, then he realized that he was not caring enough, and forgot that he had tossed Yong Qi so hard last night.

His brother was not in good health, and it would be bad if he got sick.

“Gege, don’t be angry, put on your clothes before getting out of bed, and be careful of catching a cold.” He let go of his hand, and in a moment, he changed into the face of a good brother. Afraid that Yong Qi would get out of bed in anger, he hurriedly lifted the quilt and went down, handing the clothes one by one prepared for Yong Qi.

How could Yong Qi, who had a guilty conscience, still dared to fight. After taking the things that Yong Shan handed over, he silently began to change them.

He was stripped clean at night, and was bare under the quilt. When he sat up, the red and round shoulders were exposed, and the crystal clear skin fell into Yong Shan’s eyes, alluring and coveted.

He knew that Yong Shan was watching, but he couldn’t summon the courage to ask his brother to go away. He blushed and lowered his head.

Yong Shan stared at him for a while before asking in a low voice, “Gege, are you able to sit down? Since I couldn’t get up in the morning, I have already cancelled the morning class. If Gege is uncomfortable, I will also cancel the afternoon class.”

Immediately, Yong Qi’s neck turned red, almost dripping blood.

As soon as Yong Shan’s words were out of his mouth, he knew it was too much. Afraid that he would be really angry, just as he was about to make up for his death, Yong Qi’s voice came over like a mosquito.

“Go.”

“What?”

“The afternoon class, don’t cancel it.”

This kind of critical juncture passed smoothly, and Yong Shan became very happy again. Outside, the goose feathers-like snow fell heavily for a day and a night, and now it wasn’t over yet, but it seemed that this little prince’s palace was warm and pleasant.

Both of them changed their clothes before ordering someone to bring hot water in to wash.

Yong Qi questioned something only to know that it was time to eat. In addition to his physical discomfort, he rarely slept like this and woke up late.

At the same time, he could not imagine why Yong Shan could sleep in as well today.

He had heard that this Crown Prince had always been self-disciplined.

When he was with Yong Lin, he occasionally heard Yong Lin talk about his twin brother.

Yong Lin once said, “It’s like my brother Yong Shan is made of an iron rod. He didn’t know how to enjoy himself when he was a prince. From dawn to dusk, he either practiced martial arts or read books, never stopping for a day. He was so strict to himself that when outsiders saw him, they would think he wanted to compete to be the champion of civil and military affairs, not knowing what fun is.”

Such a prince, he could sleep so well into the night after becoming a Crown Prince.

Yong Qi thought to himself, this was probably because lust had endangered the country, how did he himself take on such a role?

As he thought about it, his mind was filled with worries as he looked at Yong Shan in a complicated way.

Yong Shan’s eyes were sharp, he immediately caught his gaze, and asked with a smile, “Staring at me like that, do you think I look good today?”

It happened that Chang Defu came in enthusiastically to ask if the food should be served immediately. Yong Shan nodded, and dragged Yong Qi to the next door to eat.

This meal was even better than before. The taste and ingredients were all according to Yong Qi’s liking, as if he was the master of the palace.

One of the red lotus chicken feet was made with authentic purple golden sauce. The lotus seeds were stewed to the point that they could be divided into two halves with just one chopstick, revealing the fragrance of the chicken feet. Even Yong Qi was lured into his appetite, so he couldn’t help but pick two more chopsticks.

It’s a pity that their brother’s meal luck had never been good, and halfway through the meal, an uninvited guest came again.

As if he knew that he would be scolded, Chang Defu came in with a wrinkled face and whispered, “Your Highness, His Highness Yong Sheng is here.”

Yong Qi was stunned for a moment.

On such a cold and heavy snowy day, how could Yong Sheng come here for no reason?

He looked at Yong Shan, who didn’t eat much, instead gave him a spoonful of his favorite cloud-leg tofu, and said, “Eat more, it won’t taste good when it’s cold.” Only then did he slowly look back at Chang Defu, and said casually, “Invite him to sit in the small warm pavilion, I’ll go right over.”

Chang Defu also planned to turn around and go back quickly, and immediately rejected Yong Sheng’s request for advice. However, after listening to Yong Shan’s words, he secretly rejoiced that he didn’t talk too much and pretend to be clever as he backed out.

Yong Shan helped Yong Qi with a few more chopsticks, and filled the bowl with a half-commanding, half-warning smile, “Eat it all for me. If it’s going to be wasted, I’ll find other ways to feed gege at night.”

After he finished speaking, he lifted the curtain and went out.

Holding the bowl, Yong Qi thought about it for a long time, and finally understood what “other ways” and “feed gege” were about, and he was stagnant from head to toe.

Immediately embarrassed.

Fortunately, there was no one in the room, otherwise he would have to find a hole in the ground to hide in.

When Yong Shan left, Chang Defu had already passed the news to Yong Sheng and was on his way back. When he saw Yong Shan, he followed closely behind him, and asked for instructions, “There is one more thing to report to Your Highness. Just now, Shu Fei Niangniang sent someone to bring some portraits over, saying that they’re a good young lady in the royal family and ministers, all of them are polite and dignified…”

Yong Shan was joking with Yong Qi about this just now, but now that he heard the truth, his face was not very good-looking, and he snorted softly, “How many portraits were brought over?”

“Thirty-two.”

“Thirty-two?” Yong Shan asked indifferently as he walked, “What about when we sent it over there? How many?”

“This… this servant is not clear.”

Yong Shan turned his face, gave him a slight reproachful look, and said in a low voice, “You can’t handle such trivial matters, how can you be the Head manager? Go, find out for me which ministers’ daughters my mother has pushed back, and get all the portraits here.”

Chang Defu nodded, and hurried to do it.
